time-out

it is an unlikely weekend hangout place but I have been camped out at SGH over the weekend. it's not coz i am sick. nor have i suddenly decided to make a drastic career move from law to medicine. it's coz my dad is warded there for a couple of days. and in case, you are wondering, he is ok :) just doing some checks on his cranky stomach, to put it very simply.
so i have been camped there for the past two days and making myself very comfortable in his A class ward. it is all quite interesting if you are not so sick to enjoy it. since my dad is doing quite fine, he is enjoying his stay and getting a well-deserved rest. his blood pressure has never reached such ideal levels for a while. but anyway, as i was saying, it is quite interesting. every afternoon, we rack our brains to choose my dad's meals for the next day. then today, i made myself even more comfotable by setting up my laptop and doing some work there since i was there for the whole day.
but nothing beats the socialising. if you didn't know better, you may think my dad is a mini-celebrity by the visitors he has been getting. he has been receiving an almost endless stream of visitors from relatives, to colleagues to friends and the hospital phone and handphone keeps ringing. and since my aunt happened to be visiting from malaysia, the hospital has suddenly become the most convenient place to catch up and chat. but today, it got to a point where we got a little too rowdy and the next door neighbour comprain us. haha. not our fault lah, actually. who ask them to give us a room where the next room is separated by a partition instead of a concrete wall? and we already very nice, ok? we never comprain them when they on their TV loud loud so we can hear the invigorating bollywood tunes blasting out from vasantham central. it is like how totally unglam and embarassing to be complained at in hospital. but oh well, we popular what, cannot issit??
anyway, these visitors with their good will and kind hearts also come with their lurve wrapped up in essence of chicken. no wonder Brand or (Brand's) will never wind up. as testament to all that good will, we now have 36 bottles of essence of chicken. and 8 bottles of bird's nest, 3 bags of grapes, 10 apples and several other random fruit. looks like i will be getting plenty of fibre and nourishment for a while. hee :)
and it is now time for ME to rest. for some reason, spending an entire day at the hospital doing nothing too strenuous can also be quite tiring...
